The project "Enhancing water-food security and climate resilience in volcanic island countries of the Pacific," funded by the Global Environment Fund (GEF) and implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) with the Pacific Community (SPC) as the executing agency, aims to improve water and food security, climate resilience, and ecosystem services in Fiji, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu over five years. Key activities include developing small-scale groundwater systems, monitoring springs, and redeveloping the Tirokogu spring weir on Gizo Island, in collaboration with Solomon Water and the Water Resource Division of the Solomon Islands Government.
