The Pacific Soils Partnership (PSP), hosted by the Pacific Community (SPC), is working to improve soil health
and sustainable land management practices across Pacific Island Countries and Territories (PICTs). Healthy
soils are the foundation of resilient food systems, climate-smart agriculture, and sustainable livelihoods.
However, the Pacific faces unique challenges such as declining soil fertility, limited access to laboratory
services, remoteness of farming communities, and scarce local data on soil properties.
To address these issues, SPC—through the PSP—is procuring RAASTA Kits (Rapid Agricultural Assessment
for Soil Testing and Advisory) to facilitate decentralized, field-level soil testing and advisory services.
