Green Port Strategy and Energy Audit - Cook Islands Ports Authority
Pacific Island Countries and Territories (PICTs) are advancing sustainable energy and transport initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, with ports identified as key areas for improvement.
In line with regional and national commitments such as the Pacific Ports Vision 2030–2050 and the Cook Islands’ NDCs, the Cook Islands Ports Authority (CIPA) has requested technical assistance from the Pacific Community (SPC) to develop a Green Port Strategy and conduct a Level 1 Energy Audit.
These efforts aim to assess current sustainability practices, identify opportunities for on-site renewable energy, improve energy efficiency, and recommend practical actions to enhance environmental performance and reduce carbon emissions at Avatiu Port.
