The socio-economic community of practice (SECoP) is a network that brings together socio-economic users, experts and early-career professionals to enhance the use of socio-economic sciences in fisheries and natural resources management across the Pacific Region. Established in 2023, the SECoP has held two face-to-face meetings over the past two years to structure and organise the community, share experience and support training sessions on socio-economic methods. The SEcoP is now well-structured, with an action plan and a communication plan in place. It is gaining visibility across the region through workshops, webinars, self-promotion at regional conferences, and the creation of a dedicated webpage and Facebook group. In 2025, SECoP activities are focused on expending and strengthening the network, and increasingengagement of members. Additionally, the SPC has initiated a project to develop a socio-economic training course. Communication activities are essential to the success of this project and to the long-term sustainability of the network.
