The Towong Shire requests tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the excavation and lining of a new landfill cell at the Corryong Resource Recovery Centre.
The landfill site is located on a leased portion of a private land holding on primarily weathered granitic sandy clay soils. The new cell (known as Cell 3) has a design operating volume of 9,000m3 (in two 4,500m3 stages). Due to the recent bushfires in the Corryong area, the new cell will be constructed in a single stage to accommodate the expected increase in the rate of waste entering the site.
