With support from the Victorian State Government, Towong Shire Council recently invested in producing a Masterplan to activate the tourism potential of Lake Hume. The project involved the development of a judicious and feasible plan that identified opportunities that would improve the economic performance of Lake Hume and surrounds.
The Plan details a number of priority projects that will leverage on Lake Hume to increase visitation and visitor yield, deliver community benefits and create jobs. One key project identified is the Bellbridge Boathouse.
The Bellbridge Boathouse will see the existing Lake Hume Boat Club replaced with a bespoke building envisaged to feature integrated club rooms / function space, a café, decking, and commercial premises. Public amenities, carparking and landscaping will complete the iconic tourism attraction that is set to become synonymous with Lake Hume.
Through this competitive tender process, Council seeks to appoint a suitably qualified architect to deliver architectural construction plans.
