Towong Shire Council is inviting tenders from suitably qualified contractors for the construction of a new, fully accessible sports pavilion at the Bethanga Recreation Reserve. This facility is a key infrastructure priority identified in the Reserve Master Plan and is designed to enhance recreational, community, and emergency response capabilities for Bethanga, Bellbridge, and the surrounding Peninsula area.
The Bethanga Recreation Reserve is a Crown Land site managed by a proactive Committee of Management. It currently hosts a range of facilities including a football oval, cricket nets, tennis and netball courts, and equine facilities.
The new pavilion will:
- Provide changerooms and amenities for players, officials, volunteers, and spectators
- Support existing sports and enable broader community use (e.g., fitness programs, meetings, health services)
- Serve as a community hub for events and camping support
- Be fully accessible and environmentally conscious
Four18 Architecture has completed detailed designs and will act as the Superintendent’s representative during construction. The total project budget is up to $3 million, covering planning, management, construction, furnishings, and landscaping.
A tender site meeting is scheduled for 2.00pm Wednesday 12 November 2025. Contractors are to register their intention to attend with the Project Manager prior to the meeting.
An addendum will be released in the coming week inclusive of the Land Capability Assessment (for new septic system) and Door Hardware Schedule.
Contractors are expected to uphold Council’s values, actively consider local trades, and practice social and environmental responsibility.
