Western Downs Regional Council is seeking tenders for the upgrade of the Western Downs Flood Alert System. Flood warning infrastructure provides the rainfall and river level data for flood forecasting models to predict water levels and flows at locations within a catchment.
The objective of the Western Downs Flood Alert 2 Upgrade (the project) is to unify the Western Downs Regional Council and prepare the Western Downs Flood Alert system and all the electrical components of the system to ensure that the system is working appropriately and autonomously, with little human input, when complete. The project will utilise existing and new infrastructure of the Western Downs Region.
Council is looking for cost effective solutions and welcomes input from prospective tenderers with regards to viable measures to achieve this.
Council intends to award the project to a single, capable entity who will complete the contract in a timely and proficient manner.
