Expressions of Interest: National Anthem Performance
Liverpool Council invites local schools to help us celebrate our civic and ceremonial occasions, providing students with an opportunity to perform the National Anthem at our Citizenship Ceremonies and Council Meetings.
Your school may have an individual student, duos, small groups, choir or band interested in this opportunity.
Citizenship Ceremonies
Liverpool is the face of multicultural Australia. Our residents come from 150 different cultural backgrounds, and 43% of people living in Liverpool City were born overseas. In the last year we have welcomed around 2500 new Australian Citizens at our Citizenships ceremonies held at Liverpool Powerhouse, Casula.
Citizenship Ceremonies provide students not only with a chance to perform, but to learn about Civic process, our multicultural community, and celebrate our new Citizens.
Remaining Ceremonies for the year:
• Wednesday 3 December – 10am ceremony and 12pm ceremony
2026 dates coming soon.
Students are welcome to perform at one or both ceremonies on the day, depending on school commitments. To maximise the experience, we are happy to work with schools to provide creative learning activities for students at Liverpool Powerhouse and surrounding parklands as part of their time outside of the classroom.
Council Meetings
Council Meetings are held monthly at Civic Place, 50 Scott Street, Liverpool:
• Wednesday 22 October, 6pm
• Wednesday 19 November, 6pm
• Wednesday 10 December, 6pm
2026 dates coming soon.
Meetings start at 6pm, with the National Anthem one of the first items on the agenda. As this is a nighttime event, students would be free to leave after they have performed.
We look forward to connecting further with our schools to celebrate the Liverpool community.
