Free trees for landholders
The Woodlands out West project is offering between 50 and 200 free native tree seedlings to eligible rural landholders in the Bogan, Warren, Walgett and Moree Plains local government areas.
Eligible landholders will receive a selection of species, including:
• Weeping Myall (Acacia pendula)
• Whitewood/Cattle Bush (Atalaya hemiglauca)
• Belah (Casuarina cristata)
• River Red Gum (Eucalyptus camaldulensis)
• Coolibah (Eucalyptus coolabah)
• Black Box (Eucalyptus largiflorens)
• Poplar/Bimbil Box (Eucalyptus populnea).
Successful applicants will be notified by email in April 2026, and seedlings will be available for collection in April/May 2026 from Nyngan, Mungindi and Collarenebri.
By taking part, landholders can help boost biodiversity, establish shelterbelts and windbreaks, expand paddock tree areas, and enhance primary production on their properties.
The Woodlands out West project is part of the NSW Government’s Saving our Species program, which works to protect and restore habitat for threatened species while supporting productive, healthy and resilient landscapes.
