RFT20260109DHS - Tallegar Creek Causeway Upgrade
Coonamble Shire Council invites suitably qualified, experienced, and resourced civil contractors to tender for the Tallegar Creek Causeway Upgrade, located approximately 27 km from Coonamble on Quambone Road.
The works comprise:
• Removal and disposal of the existing floodway and culvert structure
• Installation of new pre-cast reinforced concrete box culverts (7-cell structure)
• Cast in-situ base slab, aprons, cut-off walls and headwalls
• Reconstruction of road approaches, formation shaping and associated earthworks
• Placement and compaction of subbase and DGB20 stabilised pavement
• Preparation and application of a bituminous spray seal to the road surface over the new culvert and the reconstructed approaches
• Installation of signage and ancillary road furniture
• Site establishment, traffic management and final disestablishment
• Vegetation reinstatement and rehabilitation of all disturbed areas
The project forms part of the Infrastructure Betterment Program (IBF), jointly funded by the Australian and NSW Governments, and aims to improve flood immunity, road safety, and network resilience during severe wet weather and flood events. All works are to be completed in accordance with Transport for NSW specifications, relevant Australian Standards, and Council’s environmental, quality and safety management requirements.
