Construction of footpath infrastructure at Railway Parade, Leura and Ellison Road, Springwood to deliver improved pedestrian infrastructure and accessibility across key local corridors.
• Railway Parade, Leura: This project involves construction of a new footpath adjacent to the railway line, addressing safety concerns for pedestrians accessing the Leura Railway Station precinct to bus stop. Site constraints include proximity to mature trees requiring tree protection zone (TPZ) management, narrow corridor between fencing and trees, and existing services. The scope includes excavation, concrete footpath construction, pram ramps, stormwater interface, and reinstatement works.
• Ellison Road, Springwood: This project delivers a new footpath along a busy road corridor linking residential areas to a local school and bus stop. The site includes challenges such as working at a signalised intersection, managing shallow and underground services. The scope includes excavation, concrete footpath works, traffic management, and reinstatement of disturbed areas.
Both projects aim to provide safe and accessible pedestrian connections that support active transport, improve pedestrian safety near schools and bus stops, and enhance connectivity to existing networks and local centres.
