Community Projects Update
Below are updates on some of the community prioritised projects currently being implemented:
• Culcairn - Moving of the Pedestrian Railway Bridge. Latest Information from Inland Rail is that the relocation is now likely to occur in early 2026. – Bridge being removed on 5 December 2025, Due to costs to decontaminate the bridge a report is being put to the December Council Meeting to determine what Council will do with the top span of the bridge.
• Culcairn - Middleton Park - The community has requested Council retain the Park as a green space.
• Walla Walla - New toilets/playground for Lions Park in Walla Walla. New toilets and playground are being installed in the first half of 2026.
• Holbrook - 10 Mile Creek and Submarine Park – Council has lodged a grant proposal to develop high detailed masterplans for both parks. Council are currently awaiting the result of the grant application.
• Culcairn - New Cricket Nets for Culcairn Recreation Ground. The new Cricket nets will be tendered and installed in the first half of 2026.
• Holbrook - Recreation Ground Tennis Courts – Replacement lighting and switchboard to be undertaken in first half of 2026
• Jindera - Replacement furniture for Memorial Park is to be installed in the coming weeks.
