Council has its main Administration Office, including the Council Chambers, based at 33 Hyde Street, Bellingen 2454.
This building has served as a central hub for local governance and community services for many decades. Over the years, the building has undergone several modifications to accommodate the growing needs of Council and the community.
The current air conditioning system in the building was installed in 2006 and, due to its age, is currently requiring significant ongoing repairs. This, in turn, is adding significant ongoing costs for the system to be operational. It has been decided that the current air conditioning system in the building has reached the end of its service life and requires full replacement.
The scope of the tender is to provide lump sum pricing for the removal of the existing air conditioning system and the supply and installation of the proposed new air conditioning and ventilation system as detailed within this Scope of Works and the Design Documentation prepared by Clarence Consultants Pty Ltd. The new air conditioning system will essentially be a like for like replacement but will also incorporate new technologies such as new energy-efficient, air-cooled Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) heat-recovery units, capable of providing simultaneous heating and cooling to different zones for improved comfort and operational efficiency.
Bellingen Shire Council is seeking submissions from appropriately qualified, experienced and licenced contractors to carry out these works.
Works are planned to commence in April 2026 and be completed by June 2026.
