Randwick City Council is will soon have a Public Art Advisory Panel – a group of independent experts who will help shape the future of public art in our city.

The panel is made up of individuals with experience in public art, visual art, design, curation, architecture, place-making, arts management, or cultural strategy. Their insights will guide Council in achieving and maintaining a high-quality public art collection that reflects the unique character of Randwick.
There are identified panelists from the following communities:
• A First Nations panel member
• A youth panelist
• A First Nations youth panelist
We may also occasionally call on specialist panelists for specific projects or topics.
What is the scope of the panel's advice?
The panel provides independent, strategic advice to Randwick City Council on public art matters, including strategy, commissioning and maintaining a high-quality public art collection aligned with Council’s vision and policies. Panel meetings will provide input and feedback on:
• the implementation of Randwick’s incoming Public Art Plan;
• the selection and commissioning of significant works;
• the conservation and maintenance of existing works;
• the decision to deaccession existing works;
• the assessment of public art proposals in private developments;
• requests, gifts, bequests and plaques proposed by the public;
• the development of an updated Public Art Plan;
• communication and community engagement processes for public art; and
• any other relevant matter as directed by Council.
