TRC000464. Drill and Blast Rock on Ground.
Internal quarrying and extractive activities play a critical role in Council’s ability to provide effective and efficient service to the road network and other construction projects for the Toowoomba Region.
Council holds Environmental Authority EPPR00865113 for extraction and screening at approximately thirty (30) locations across the region.
In addition, Council has several small roadside borrow pits, that are of a scale and intensity that do not require an Environmental Authority. These locations are attended infrequently but form part of the broader construction material resources available to Council.
Council invites suitably qualified and experienced contractors to submit a schedule of rates pricing and supporting documentation for the provision of a “Rock on Ground” drill and blast service. This service is to include, but is not limited to, management of the total drilling and blasting process, including conducting the design of the blast.
All operations undertaken at the quarry are to be carried out in compliance with the Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999, the Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Regulation 2017, the current Quarry Management Plan and relevant procedures and all conditions of permits issued by the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection.
The successful contractor will be engaged to complete a “Rock on Ground” drill and blast service at numerous licensed quarries within the Toowoomba Region in accordance with Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999, the Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Regulation 2017.
