George Town Community Centre - Expression of Interest Process
George Town Council will soon begin an Expression of Interest (EOI) process to explore potential future uses for the George Town Community Centre (former YMCA site).
As outlined in our Annual Plan, Council is committed to investigating alternative opportunities for this facility. The upcoming EOI will be the first step, inviting interested parties to submit formal proposals for consideration. Please note: this stage is designed to gather structured submissions, not general ideas or community feedback.
Depending on the proposals received, the building may continue to operate in its current form, or Council may explore new opportunities. If a proposal is taken forward, a public advertising period will follow, giving community members the chance to share any concerns before a final decision is made.
