2025-48 - On-Going Established Tree Maintenance
The City of Whittlesea is seeking submissions from suitably qualified and experienced contractors to deliver established tree maintenance services across urban streetscapes, parks, and reserves within the municipality.
This tender is for a long-term, schedule-of-rates contract to support the successful establishment of newly planted trees. The works include regular maintenance activities such as watering, mulching, weed control, formative pruning, stake management, pest and disease monitoring, tree replacement, and site reinstatement. The majority of trees are under 24 months of age and require consistent care to ensure establishment, survival and long-term canopy development.
The successful contractor will be responsible for the maintenance of approximately 4,000 trees at any given time, with numbers fluctuating monthly as new trees are added and others complete their establishment period. Site data and maintenance tracking will be managed through Council’s tree asset system, Forestree.
This contract plays a critical role in delivering Council’s Greening Whittlesea 2040 Strategy and broader environmental and liveability outcomes.
The initial contract term is five (5) years, with an optional extension of up to one (1) additional year, subject to satisfactory performance.
