Expression of Interest - Christmas in Ballarat 2025
EVENT OVERVIEW
Christmas in Ballarat is a celebration of the festive season. Delivered throughout November & December, the City of Ballarat transform the CBD streetscapes with unique Christmas decorations.
Alongside stunning decorations, the Christmas in Ballarat campaign will promote a series of unique event activations, retail offerings and hospitality promotions brightening community spirits throughout the festive period.
THE BREIF
The City of Ballarat is seeking an expression of interest from artists, creatives and/or designers to create a total of six (6) artworks that are linked in a way to create an art trail, encouraging movement throughout the CBD for Christmas in Ballarat 2025.
These artworks will be produced to a large scale, printed on a foil decal and installed onto various walls throughout the Ballarat CBD.
Each artwork must meet the following criteria:
1. Be inspired by a Christmas theme and include identifiable Christmas characters (e.g. Santa, Reindeers etc).
2. Be unique to and inspired by Christmas in Ballarat.
3. Adhere to the Christmas in Ballarat colour palette.
4. Target families and young children to actively participate.
5. Include a submission element, themed journey, and hidden challenge.
6. Encourage movement and exploration of Ballarat’s CBD retail hotspots.
The final designs must be submitted to the City of Ballarat as a PDF or JPEG file (High Res) made to the dimensions of an allocated location.
The City of Ballarat will engage and pay for a contractor to print and install the designed artworks.
Successful candidates will receive more information prior to submitting final designs.
