Expression of Interest - Ballarat Craft & Design Week
Ballarat Craft & Design Week for 2026 - ‘BOUND’ - is guided by creative collaboration. This might be collaboration between individual artists, an artist and manufacturer, a producer and craftsperson or a group of artists and makers
In coming weeks applicants will be invited to apply with a collaborative concept, idea or existing project, responding to themes of textile, memory, resource, materiality and connection. Selection will be made based on the uniqueness of the proposed collaborative relationship, the quality of work and the anticipated visitor or user experience. Consideration must be given to the ongoing nature of the work - whether the work will be ephemeral or planned to be an ongoing product. At least one of the partners within each proposal must live, work or study within the Ballarat LGA.
A select cohort will be chosen to complete a professional development program.
At the close of the professional development program, a public facing event will be held to feature and celebrate the end outcomes from the collaborative development process. The successful candidates will be supported to work towards a manifestation of their collaboration, with each group provided with space within the Ballarat Mining Exchange.
Applications are now open for eligible collaborations between artists, makers, producers and more.
